Whats in that Burger?

I remember some years back when Oprah was being sued by the beef industry, and really didn’t think much of it. I wish had paid better attention. Instead of thinking it was about a bunch of rich people suing each other over money.

That couldnt be further from the truth. The cattle industry had been expose infront of millions of people for feeding cows other sick cows, road kill and cats and dogs that had been put to sleep. They would grind them up and turn them into feed for cattle, which eventually ended up in your stomach.

woman-joggingHey fitness friends. I recently purchase a health and fitness content package which was mostly a waste of money. The majority of the articles suck, but i decided to share a few with you that I thought was good enough to post.

Running for Weight Loss

When some people decide that they want to lose weight, they join a diet program. Others sign up for aerobics classes. And others go out and buy expensive exercise equipment. These things may very well be effective, but if you want to lose weight, you really don’t need anything more than your two feet.

Running is one of the best forms of exercise for weight loss. There’s no special equipment required, just a good pair of shoes and a place to run. The average person burns 100 to 150 calories per mile when running. And in addition to weight loss, running is also great for cardiac health and muscle tone in the lower body.

Excellent video on the dangers of consuming animal flesh, and the life long health benefits of eating a whole plant diet. The video is just about a hour long but it is worth your time. I urge you to watch the whole thing and then you can make your own choice about what you allow inside your divine body.

BlueBerries

BlueBerries

Good evening fitness friends. How was your weekend? I hope it was spent doing the thing you love to do with those you love. Now as for me, I was keeping myself  busy cleaning my apartment, but I did have time to get in two good workouts, but after I was done and back home preparing my green protein smoothie. I notice I was missing one crucial ingredient. I’m sure by reading the post title you already know which one.

Blueberries!! This powerful antioxidant was highly sorted after by the Native Americans, who believed Blueberries had magical powers sent down from the gods and renamed Starberries. The magic berries was use during times of famine to feed the children. And Blueberry juice became an important drink for civil war soldiers to protect them from scurvy.

Blueberries or Wildberries are rich in phytochemicals, like anthocyanins. Which creates the pigment that makes blue berries blue, and ellagic acid a natural compound that may inhibit tumor growth.

The Arnold voice over really had me hype up and running to the gym.

My Grocery list revealed

BXP27956My grocery list has change through the years of my training. I went from eating and drinking everything. The way I figured, as long as I hit the gym it didn’t much matter, I’m talking all the goodies, big macs, bacon double whopper with cheese, a pint of ice cream with chocolate chips, potato chips with dip and a cold six pack of beer. That was a regular week for me.

That was then and this is now. I’m now almost 100% vegetarian, except for egg whites and salmon. I gave up all the red meat , dairy, pork, and my beloved chicken. This transition is still new for me, but I feel alot stronger and more energy then before. and to think I use to look at vegetarians like a bunch of weak weirdos, now my friends think I’m crazy for giving up all that good tasty(artery clogging)food.

Vegetables

  1. Spinach
  2. Kale
